BEER=LOVE

We uncovered a really powerful insight early on in our research: People choose to drink wine with their meal, even though they may know next to nothing about wine, because it’s the expected thing to do. It’s safe, because you can always fall back on the old rule of thumb: red with meat, white with seafood. 

The way we have been thinking about food and drink pairings is wildly outdated and to be honest, pretty boring. Did you know that beer has thousands more flavor notes than wine? I didn't either. Interestingly beer pairs better than wine with most foods. Hoegaarden and blue cheese. A spicy Thai curry and a crisp chalice of Stella Artois. A burger and a Bud. These are all sublime pairings, some more expected than others. We set out to teach America what to drink with their food.

We created a creative platform to help AB InBev educate people globally about the magical moment when the right beer is paired with the right food. We called it The Simple Complexities of beer. It is currently rolling out internally at ABI, and is making its way to the consumer shortly.
